This week's theme is all about planting and gardening.
Creative art:
Try painting with a carrot or celery stalk. Or, any type of food you have on hand that would be suitable.
What are some things we find in the dirt? WORMS!
Cook up some spaghetti and call them "Worms." Have a plate of different colors of paint. Dip the "worms" in the paint and run it along the paper.
Get some dirt and add water. Now, paint with mud. Make a Mud monster!
Writing / Literacy:
I have attached a little reader booklet, poem, and worksheet activities to the email.
Keep practicing all letter sounds.
I would focus this week on ending sounds of simple words.
Our sight word this week was am.
Science / Math:
Count by 2's - skip count. Give them visuals of the numbers. Start with 2,4,6,8. Go higher when they are ready.
Plant grass seed in a small cup. I like grass seed because it grows fast.
How about exploring the seeds in the food you eat? Take the seeds out, count them, sort them.
Can you go outside and find where worms live? Lift up some rocks and explore. How many can you find? Why do we need worms? They help the soil!
